National Maori Tertiary Student Hui
Te Roopu Tautoko of the Aotearoa Tertiary Students Association (ATSA) is running their second national Hui in Whakatàne this month. Te Hui Tauira 2002 is being held to facilitate pro-active discussion on the issue of Maori student retention within Tertiary education and come up with real ways Maori students; Iwi, institutions and government can resolve the problems together.

"The issue of Maori tertiary student retention is one that ATSA is committed to approaching in a positive and results focused way," said Julie Pettett, President of ATSA. "This Hui is about practical solutions that come from Maori students, the users of the system that is failing them."
