Students Continue to Back ACT

Published: Wed 12 Jun 2002 08:15 AM
Students have no reason to re-elect a Labour government next month, ACTivists President, Gavin Middleton, said today.
Gavin said “Labour has delivered nothing to students. Restrictions have been placed on where and what we can study, while student loan debt has doubled and opportunities to win high-paying jobs in New Zealand have faded away.”
“ACT’s lower taxes would mean graduates could repay student loans faster and those who work while studying would have to borrow less.”
“ACTivists are also encouraging ACT to adopt a policy that funds tertiary students equally whether they choose to study at a private or public institution.”
“Promoting policies that encourage and reward excellence will continue to win ACT a strong student following” Gavin Middleton said.
