School Holiday Fun At Auckland Museum

Auckland Museum is bursting with cool activities for the school holidays
WETASAURUS APPEARANCES
Catch our Dinomite president Wetasaurus, he’s part Weta, part Dinosaur! Wetasaurus will be visiting the Discovery Centre at 11am on: Monday 1, Saturday 6 and Sunday 14 July.
WORKSHOPS
A selection of workshops are available for kids. Bookings are essential. Call Kath on 306 7040 from 24 June to book. $6/$5 for Dinomites.
Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 July
Sand tile art
10 – 11am, or 1 – 2pm
For 6 –12 year olds. Make pictures in the sand indoors these holidays with Megan!
Monday 8 or Wednesday 10 July
Whirling bird
10 – 11am, or 11am – 12 noon
For 5 and 6 year olds only. Have fun making a whirling bird!
Friday 12 July
Poi making
10 – 11.00am
For 6 – 12 year olds. Learn to plait and make your own dancing poi.

Pop into the Discovery Centre to hear interesting and informative talks from our staff. 11am and 2pm on the following days:

Ancient Egypt!
Handle some artefacts from ancient Egyptian times. Ancient Civilizations Gallery, ground floor.

Moa!
Meet a bird from the past in this interactive talk! Origins Gallery, first floor.
Tuesday 9 July
Beach combing for a rainy day!
Explore the rocky shore displays. Marine Gallery, first floor.
Wednesday 10 July
Guess the mystery sounds!

10 MINUTE ACTIVITIES

Weird and Wonderful, Auckland Museum’s mega cool natural history Discovery Centre is about to get even cooler! But to do this we have had to close our doors. We will reopen on 27th October with even more weird and wonderful things for you to discover. In the meantime you can still visit Treasures and Tales, our awesome human culture Discovery Centre, and other amazing galleries at Auckland Museum.
The Discovery Centre is open daily from 10am – 5pm
