Friends of the Wanganui Polytechnic encourage all those interested in the future of tertiary education in Wanganui to attend the remaining 'Vision' focus groups jointly offered by UCOL and the Wanganui District Council. (Phone 0800 428 852.) Although the pre-registration format is not familiar to many of us, it should not deter those who have thoughts and ideas on the matter.
The first session was attended by members of FOWP and were found to be interesting and well run with ample opportunity for frank discussion. Although some attendees may not have been familiar with past issues and problems associated with WRCP, there is still valuable contributions to be made towards our future.
Since the groups are specifically designed to accommodate a manageable group size, the registration format is required.
Next week's specific sector sessions (Industry, Sport, Arts etc) are also open to the public by registration in the same manner. Additional sessions are apparently available the following week if warranted.
