Wanganui Students Gain Strong Representation At UCOL
“The Aotearoa Tertiary Students Association (ATSA) is pleased that Wanganui students are strongly represented within the new structure at UCOL ," said National Student President Julie Pettett.
The President of the Wanganui Regional and Community Polytechnic Students Association (WRCPSA) confirmed today that his association has been appointed onto both the UCOL Council and also the key transitional advisory committee managing the integration of Wanganui Polytechnic into UCOL.
“The Wanganui Student Association has been given key roles in delivering tertiary services in the Wanganui region within the new structure”, stated Pettett. “Fears held by some students last year have thankfully proved unfounded”
Des Warahi, President of WRCPSA is a member of the Interim Advisory Board overseeing the merger of Wanganui Polytechnic into UCOL.
The WRCP Students Association will also assist with the selection and appointment of a principal to manage the Wanganui campus of UCOL.
“Mr Warahi is an experienced President and I have no doubt that he will be able to positively assist within the new expanded UCOL Council”, said Pettett.
