Establishment Board of Trustees for Howick South Secondary School
Suggestions Sought On Name For New Howick South Secondary School
Suggestions are being sought by the Board of Trustees on a name for the new secondary school being built on Chapel Road, opposite the Botany Town Centre.
The Howick South Secondary School is one of two new state secondary schools to be built in 20 years the other being built in Manurewa East.
The earthworks, which began in January, are on schedule. The school will open for year 9 students at the start of the school year in 2004.
The Board of Trustees is in the process of appointing at Principal and an appointment is expected to be made by the end of March. There has been a high level of interest in the Principal's position.
The Board of Trustees welcomes input from the local community on a name for the new school.
