ATSA Supports the Alliance Stance on the EUB

“ATSA students call for everyone to support the Alliance on their Emergency Unemployment Benefit (EUB) stance” stated Aotearoa Tertiary Student Association National President Keith Clark.

“Tit for tat bickering between the Greens and Alliance needs to stop. Sue Bradford and Liz Gordon are BOTH correct in our view” said Clark. “Both parties now need to concentrate their efforts on pressuring their Labour counterparts to reintroduce the EUB properly in time for summer”.

“ATSA is supportive of any measure that will have the EUB reintroduced for students over the summer break. A legislative change is unnecessary at this time and attempts to introduce the change using legislation will waste time. Unless something is done now the all to common reality for Tertiary Students in New Zealand will hit home in six months” Clark said today.

“Pressure on Labour from all sides is the best way to achieve the change that students need.” ATSA will be making its views known to all parties and policy makers on this issue.
