Introducing LPL Play: home for esport fans, gamers

Published: Fri 3 May 2019 10:34 AM
LPL, New Zealand’s leading esports company, have officially launched their platform LPL Play to the gaming community this morning.
The platform went live this week with the launch of their new-look website. LetsPlay.Live offers several dedicated sections for esports enthusiasts, gamers and fans, including LPL Play – a rebrand of Australian esports platform CyberGamer.com which the company acquired in December 2018. All the esports media and leagues are now all located under one roof, so gaming fans can sign up to play, and tune in to watch, easier than ever before
LPL Play will continue to support gamers of all levels - from the free Open division to professional teams participating in the LPL Pro division - to subscribe and participate in competitive esports tournaments. LPL are proud to be supporting a wide range of titles in their second season for 2019 – from mobile games such as Clash Royale, new to the platform titles like FIFA 19, to well established and popular titles like CS:GO, and Call of Duty.
Those already familiar with the CyberGamer platform can rest easy knowing the website still holds many of the same features and faces they will recognise from the past. Veteran admins continue to oversee and run their respective title leagues. Jeremy “Asterix” Klaosen, founder of CyberGamer and now LPL’s Head of Platform, has been building the new website over the past four months.
This new platform not only expands the opportunities for gamers of all levels to become involved in esports and competitive leagues but also elevates the Kiwi company to an international level. LPL are looking forward to feedback on the new platform from the esports community, and are excited to welcome more gamers into the ANZ esports scene.
The Auckland-based company believes that bringing everything together under one roof will enable them to achieve even more for the community, with a wider range of grassroots opportunities and pathways up to pro leagues.
