Anxiety Club announce release of Cancer Society fund-raising single, ‘Ginger in the Summer’
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hot on the heels of their widely acclaimed Black Heart EP, Wellington band Anxiety Club have released live favourite, Ginger in the Summer as a single. The single’s release coincides with the band’s show at Wellington’s Botanic Gardens on 10 January 2019 - as part of the iconic Gardens Magic concert series.
Ginger in the Summer will be available exclusively from Anxiety Club’s Bandcamp page with all proceeds from sales of the single going to the Cancer Society.
If it wasn’t obvious from the title, with Ginger in the Summer the group show-off their fun side with a high-energy ode to summer love. Across a sunburnt and hazy tale of a carefree – but ultimately doomed - romance, they affectionately mine a plethora of Kiwi cultural touchstones from Don McGlashen to Annie Crummer, Hi-ace vans, Pohutukawa trees and RSAs.
“Our love burned-up like a Ginger in the Summer, halfway down Dominion Road…”
