Do They Know It’s Cricket Time? ACC Release Christmas Album

Published: Fri 30 Nov 2018 12:33 PM
30 November 2019 – Following in the footsteps of Christmas perennial favourites, Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey, The Alternative Commentary Collective, in association with Mammoth, are releasing their very own Christmas album – due for public release Monday December 3.
Head ACC commentator Jeremy Wells stated, “It was something that, as a team of cricket commentators, came almost naturally and we spent just 45 minutes in the studio putting these nine tracks down”.
The title of the album is aptly named Do They Know It’s Cricket Time? which is also the first single from the album. Wells states, “The single, Do They Know It’s Cricket Time, really sums up the struggles cricket fans have had over the dry winter months and the glimmer of hope that Christmas brings”. The single also comes with the ACC’s first ever music video featuring all nine members of the team; Leigh Hart, Matt Heath, Mike Lane, Jason Hoyte, Lee Baker, James McOnie, Jeremy Wells, Scotty J Stevenson and Paul Ford. The video also features cameos from Laura McGoldrick, Sam Wallace and New Zealand TV Personality of the Year Hayley Holt.
“This album really will put some much-needed Christmas cheer into people’s lives during what is often a busy and stressful time,” added ACC team manager Mike Lane. “Plus, it’s only 20 minutes long and free, so what’s not to love.”
With nine classic ACC tracks mixed in with commentary highlights from previous seasons, along with two bonus tracks, the album will be available FREE to download from TheACCnz.com plus you can win a limited edition CD and cassette from Radio Hauraki.
