Three’s Dancing with the Stars Nz Raises a Phenomenal
$424,300 for Charity
Three is very proud to announce it has raised a total of $424,365.90 during this seasons hit entertainment show, Dancing with the Stars NZ. The show dazzled Kiwi fans as they voted for and watched their favourite celebrities cha-cha, twerk and tango their way through ten weeks of dancing. A record high for Three, the overall sum raised in 2018 is more than five times the amount raised from the shows previous season in 2015.
MediaWorks Chief Content Officer Andrew Szusterman is thrilled with the result, “This show is only as good as the people who take part in it and our celebrities and their professional dance partners are the driving force behind this incredible result. They were so dedicated to entertaining the country all in the name of charity, and the fans followed suit texting in droves each week to vote for their favourites.”
Each celebrity contestant on the show selected a charity to represent as they battled it out on the dancefloor in the hopes of raising as much money as possible through weekly voting. All four text service providers, Spark, Vodafone, 2degrees and Skinny, shimmied on board with the cause and made reductions to their standard margins in support of the series, which contributed to the total amount raised in the name of charity.
