National Pacific Radio Trust Announce Winner of PMN Logo Competition And Presents New Brand
National Pacific Radio Trust that oversees Pacific Media Network, operates Niu FM, Radio 531pi, Pacific Radio News and the nine Pacific language programmes, is proud to present Pacific Media Network - PMN’s new branding, that will be rolled out over the next few months.
This is part of the new strategy that the trust is implementing, and is aligned with the vision of PMN to create 100% Pacific content.
A competition was held in March for design students and recent design graduates to create a new logo that embodies the new PMN.
Out of the 21 entries received from across the country and the Pacific region, Samoan design student from Naenae, Wellington, Malaki Peseta’s design was successful.
The 21 year old is in his final year of the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communications) Honours at Massey University.
Malaki says based on the brief he was given by the Trust, his design was inspired by the tanoa and fishing net and wanted to create a modern logo for PMN.
NPRT trustee and head of the content committee Sara-Jane Elika says the logo represents everything that our new Content strategy wants to achieve.
“It acknowledges the past, changing the present and aspiring to a future where our Pacific content is a reflection of our ‘‘upega’ and 'tanoa' metaphoric identities, accessible through multimedia platforms and recognised for its professional and authentic representation.”
PMN invites the Pacific community, stakeholders to be part in this special journey, and share in the PMN story.
