31 May 2018 – Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport have covered the America’s Cup since 1983, and this series will be no
different as NZME announce today they have entered into an agreement with TVNZ to secure exclusive radio rights for the
36th America’s Cup Presented by Prada in March 2021. They’ll also cover all preceding events including the America’s Cup
World Series in 2019 & 2020, the America’s Cup Christmas Race in December 2020 and the Prada Cup Challenger Selection series in January & February 2021.
Listeners will remember the iconic race last year, with Peter Montgomery in Bermuda calling Emirates Team New Zealand to
victory live on Newstalk ZB & Radio Sport. Listeners will also be able to tune in on iHeartRadio to hear Emirates Team New Zealand defend the Auld
Mug on their home turf of Auckland.
