All proceeds to go to the Global Fund for Women
International Women’s Day marks the anniversary of the launch of Travelher, a website dedicated to inspiring women to explore the world, and providing a platform to tell travel stories and share advice. To mark the occasion, its co-founders, Meghan Advent and Natalie Gruner, have created a book - a collection of the best stories submitted to the website over the past two years.
“We have been blown away by the number of incredible stories we have received, and decided the quality, depth and variety of stories were worth taking offline and immortalising in a tangible format,” said Ms Advent. “It’s also a way to pay it forward, as we will be donating all of the proceeds to the Global Fund for Women.”
The Global Fund for Women is an international women’s charity that supports a wide variety of female-focused initiatives throughout the world. Its mandate is to champion gender equality via three main areas: Sexual Health and Reproductive Rights, Freedom from Violence, and Economic and Political Empowerment.
“2017 was a big year for gender equality and we would like to see that momentum build and continue,” added Ms Gruner. “I can’t think of a better way to combine the amazing spirit of our Travelher community with a project aimed at helping women across the globe.”
The book is a collection of short, insightful and heartwarming travel stories from women of all ages and backgrounds. Beautiful imagery brings it all together to make it a fantastic gift or a source of personal inspiration. It goes on sale today for NZ$30 via the GoGetFunding website. The campaign will close 11:59pm (NZDT) March 31, 2018.
