MAINZ partnership with Splore
The Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ) is excited to be back partnering and getting involved with Splore Festival 2018!
Taking place on the shores of Tapapakanga Regional Park just outside Auckland, the festival is a three-day entertainment extravaganza running from 23-25 February. Incorporating both music and the arts, Splore like to describe it as “New Zealand’s greatest dress up party”!
MAINZ has been involved with Splore since the dawn of the new millennium and this year are proud to have DJ and Electronic Music Production Programme Leader DJ Frank Booker performing the last set on Saturday night at the DJ Stage.
Frank Booker tours extensively worldwide, including throughout Australia, Japan, Europe and the USA and DJ’s for high profile events, including Prince and Quentin Tarantino. With 20 years’ experience he has quietly built a worldwide reputation for incredible edits and unforgettable DJ sets - the Splore audience is in for a treat!
MAINZ offers training not only in DJ and Electronic Music Production but graduates from the Entertainment and Event technology course with specific skills in live sound will also be involved in providing production support and the sound system for Splore’s Living Lounge. A hugely popular section of the festival, the circus tent-like ‘Living Lounge’ offers multiple bands, circus acts, comedy and cabaret shows. This involvement allows graduates the chance to rub shoulders with stalwarts of the industry while also being part of the Splore experience.
MAINZ are proud to have supported Splore as it has developed into the vibrant festival it is today. Programme Leader for the Live Sound course Tony McMaster has enjoyed being part of MAINZ’s involvement with the festival for many years. “It feels great to be involved and to be part of the local industry and culture”.
