Phoenix Foundation to headline Beers at the Basin
Indie rockers The Phoenix Foundation have been announced to headline the entertainment section of Wellington’s brand new
beer festival, Beers at the Basin, on 9 December.
Nestled among a talented line-up including Tunes of I, Miles Calder & the Rumours, Swamp Thing, and one further act to be announced in November, The Phoenix Foundation will round out the
inaugural event in style.
With a strew of awards and accomplishments in tow, the band is no stranger to the festival scene, having toured
extensively throughout New Zealand and internationally since their inception over 20 years ago in 1994.
They will share the stage with NZ’s Got Talent crowd favourites Swamp Thing, a high energy Blues/Roots duo who virtually
guarantee to get attendees’ feet stomping. Joining them will be Miles Calder & the Rumours with their brand of “atmospheric Americana”, and local crowd-pleasers Tunes of I, who will bring a blend of
dub, roots and soul to the festival stage.
Beers at the Basin will be held on Saturday 9 December at Wellington’s Basin Reserve and will feature a select line-up
of craft beers, cider, wine and street food from Wellington and across the country.
Tickets are now on sale, with reserved table and group booking options available.
While a warm sunny day is hoped for, a postponement date of Sunday 10 December is in place, in the event of extreme
weather.
Further details for the event can be found online at www.beersatthebasin.co.nz.
