New Zealand Polo Open – Open now!
Clevedon, Auckland – 11 September. Spring may best be associated with daffodils, lambs and spring grass, but it also
marks the start of a new season that leads into a summer packed with strawberries, flowing florals and brimmed hats. A
summer that is superbly expressed by the sport of polo.
Champagne on the lawn and the thundering of hooves across an immaculate turf in an adrenaline charged game that over
centuries has claimed the title of the ‘sport of kings’.
The Land Rover NZ Polo Open is the pinnacle of the sport in New Zealand and draws a discerning crowd from around
Auckland and the wider regions who converge on Fisher Field in the heart of Clevedon for a day of unparalleled glamour
and action.
The 2018 Land Rover NZ Polo Open being held on the 18th of February will mark the 41st year of this hallmark event,
which has been as hotly contested in corporate entertainment as on the field. The Land Rover NZ Polo Open offers an
exceptional opportunity for luxury brands and a high-end clientele to network and immerse themselves in the glamour and
excitement of polo.
Land Rover NZ Polo Open Event Director, Hannah Marshall welcomes expressions of interest in corporate entertaining
within the lineup of hospitality marquees that offer a wide range of options and opportunities that Hannah describes as
being “unique to this event.”
Over the years the Land Rover NZ Polo Open has seen a wider array of corporates and high-end brands looking to recognise
and reward their customers and staff around hallmark events such as the polo. Hannah says with the polo being a full
day’s outing it offers a really immersive, event entertainment experience and a unique mix of glamour, hospitality and
sport all rolled into one.
Hannah cites high end sponsors such as Land Rover NZ PoloOpen’s naming right sponsor, Land Rover and beverage sponsor
Veuve Cliquot as being key to setting the tone and standard for the event. “We bring world-class equine athletes to the
event and set the stage for an exciting sports and entertainment event whilst our sponsors set the tone that adds to the
glamour and prestige of the sport of polo.” At the 2017 event, Heletranz were VIP sponsors that quite literally added a
Bondesque element to the event as they choppered in VIP guests and celebrities in true international style. Other
sponsors such as the Luxury Network used this premium event to showcase their brands and clients with customers as well
as being on show to the wider polo audience.
With a range of marquee packages on offer, Hannah also says that the Land Rover NZ Polo Open offers an opportunity for
brands and corporates to express themselves in an individual way with theming and bespoke hospitality options within the
marquee settings.
