Ian Godleman Finalist Immigrant of the Year 2017 Award
Ian Godleman has been selected as a finalist for the New Zealand Immigrant of the Year for 2017.
Nominated for his work as an international golf coach Ian has coached, helped and worked with multiple winners on the
PGA / LET / APGA / and European Tours. Ian tee’d off against over 150 nominees to be selected as one of the three
finalists vying for the prestigious Immigrant of the Year award.
The award, determined by a panel of independent judges, is a recognition of outstanding personal effort and professional
achievement during the past 12 months, making them an exceptional migrant. The finalists, selected on a points system,
including what makes them an outstanding migrant. The three finalists were determined as a cut above the rest.
Speaking from the US where Ian is currently coaching on the LPGA Tour, Ian said “I am deeply humbled to be recognised
for my contribution to New Zealand Golf”. “It is an honour to work with talented individuals here” Ian added “With my
global experience I can make a genuine contribution to New Zealand Golf, especially for those that are determined to
follow a professional career in golf”.
Coaching has been a passion of Ian’s for over twenty-five years. He pursued a career in coaching golfers to professional
success including our own: Lynette Brooky and Gareth Paddison and in Europe Seve Ballesteros and several other of the
world’s top golfers. He is currently working closely with the Lynette Brooky Golf Academy in New Zealand, developing
potential Tournament golf professionals.
