Working Class Boy: an Evening of Stories And Songs | New Date Confirmed for Rescheduled Napier Show.
Eccles Entertainment is pleased to confirm that Jimmy Barnes will now bring his Working Class Boy show to Napier’s Pettigrew Green Arena on Tuesday 28 March. Tickets that were purchased for the original date of Sunday 12 February will still be valid for the new date and no action needs to be taken. If you are unable to attend this rescheduled date, a full refund will be available from the point of purchase.
The show has been receiving amazing reviews and numerous standing ovations as it’s worked its way up the country.
‘An honest, raw and courageous performance’ – John, Wellington
‘A spine tingling performance that I will never, ever forget. Had me in tears’ – Stacey, Invercargill
‘A very real and honest account of a tough life, amazing to see Jimmy’s family on stage with him, I loved it’ – Wayne, Dunedin.
This unique live theatrical production is a companion piece to the first volume of his memoirs - Working Class Boy, released by Harper Collins in September 2016. The book was written entirely by Jimmy Barnes. It tells the raw and confronting story of fleeing the poverty of Scotland only to endure violence and abuse as an immigrant in the suburbs of Adelaide. This special live event will see Jimmy sharing stories from his troubled childhood and delinquent adolescence. It also sees him accompanied by his musical companions, delivering intimate performances, of some key songs drawn from his earliest years. This tour will be a treat with lots of storytelling providing a real insight into the events that shaped Jimmy's life and his music. With extra shows just added to meet demand in Australia, it’s clear that this show is truly not to be missed.
