Fiona Pears and Band – AOTNZ tour -27 January – 27 February 2017
In clubs, theatres, iconic country halls and even a band rotunda – hugely popular violinist Fiona Pears and band will entertain audiences up and down the country this January and February. Touring with Arts On Tour NZ, together with her husband, English record producer and musician Ian Tilley on piano, Pete Fleming on double bass and Mike Ferrar on guitar, Fiona will play a mix of musical styles including tango, gypsy, Celtic, classical and jazz - some traditional, many her own compositions. Besides her amazing technique, Fiona knows how to enjoy herself on stage, and that enjoyment is contagious. She’s a crowd favourite….
“The audience couldn’t help but smile as we recognised that here was a musician who not only has an amazingly accomplished technique, but she’s also up on stage having a ball.” –Nelson Mail

Arts On Tour New Zealand (AOTNZ) organises tours of outstanding New Zealand performers to rural and smaller centres in New Zealand. The trust receives funding from Creative New Zealand, support from Interislander, and liaises with local arts councils, repertory theatres and community groups to bring the best of musical and theatrical talent to country districts. The AOTNZ programme is environmentally sustainable – artists travel to their audiences rather than the reverse. (ends)
