Eating Tokyo - Five fabulous, food-filled days in Tokyo.
For many, the idea of exploring Tokyo is daunting. The language and the impossible street address system make it tricky to get to the heart of what Tokyo has to offer.
Janice Kirkwood and Sue Dempsey formerly from Astoria, Wellington’s iconic cafe, will be leading a culinary adventure to this vibrant city in May 2017.
From the back streets of Roppongi to Tsukiji market, the heart of Shinjuku to the alleyways of Asakusa.
Sample street food, explore the Tsukiji Market and peruse the aisles of a famous department store food hall. Eat traditional soba noodles and the freshest sashimi and sushi.
Dine at hard to find Izakayas and Michelin starred restaurants. Roam alleyways filled with tiny yakitori bars. Janice and Sue will share some of their favourite finds.
These will be small, personalized tours, with a maximum of six guests, focused on all things food.
Eating Tokyo is suitable for fearless eaters and food adventurers. Excellent stamina is required.
This promises to be a truly unique Tokyo experience.
