Wellington Fashion Label Desiree to Participate in Charity Fashion Show
On Saturday the 29th of October 2016 nearly 300 people will be in attendance at the two fashion shows at the Khandallah
Town Hall to help raise funds for the Life Flight Charity.
The show will be featuring Wellington based Fashion Designer Desiree along with Millicent, Andrea Moore and Maroulis
Gowns.
Designer Désirée Turner is very excited to be presenting her Spring Summer Collection inspired by the 90’s movie Sliding
Doors and more importantly to be helping raise funds for such a worthy cause. The movie is about a woman whose life
changes drastically dependant on whether she catches the train and we follow her two parallel universes.
The reason this was such an inspiration is that Desiree feels that “as a modern woman I have two sides of me and I
wanted to create a collection that would mean I could have a wardrobe that works perfectly for both of my universes as a
business owner and also as a mum”
The look book has been styles to show very similar garments shown with either heels or sneakers to demonstrate the
versatility and both universes. This show will mark the designers first charity show and she does not expect it to be
her last. “Recent events have shown me just how many life threatening circumstances there are in our lives and that we
need to help support all the charities that help save lives. Life Flight is one of them but don’t expect them to be the
last and only charity I support.”
The Desiree Collection will be presented at both of the Save A Life Shows with the designer in attendance herself and
also previewing a few outfits from the not yet released next season range.
Life Flight saves over 1400 people every year by air lifting them to hospital when waiting for an ambulance could mean
losing their life. Each flight costs thousands of dollars so all money raised goes towards helping keep them in the air
and saving lives every day.
