Out with the old, In with the new
Life’s most momentous occasions celebrate new direction, change, a fresh focus, moving on; New Years’ resolutions, a break up, moving house, changing jobs, getting married.
We can all get stuck in a bit of a rut, but Off the Cuff, Nelson’s monthly improv show say they have the cure. Not only will there be nothing old, it will all be made up on the spot … comedy, songs, drama, poetry, dance … you can’t get newer than that!
Artistic Director Laura Irish says that you never know what might happen or where the suggestions from the audience might take them. It could be as simple as having to sing Old MacDonald or they could end up having new adventures, meeting some old friends, creating a new hope, getting a little old school or even experiencing a brave new world.
“That is part of the fun and excitement of improvisation, for both the audience and the players”, says Irish. “We can certainly promise you that no two shows will be the same.”
So throw off those comfy old slippers and come on down to Off the Cuff: Out with the Old, In with the New, Nelson’s monthly improv show at the Theatre Royal on Friday 16 September at 7.30pm.
Bookings are available through Ticket Direct or from the Theatre Royal.
