Two changes for the Mondiale
Auckland Aces squad to face the Central Stags
The Mondiale Auckland Aces have made two changes to their squad to face the Central Stags at Eden Park Outer Oval tomorrow.
Auckland remain unbeaten in this season's Plunket Shield and come into the Central Stags match on the back of a tough draw with Otago. The side will be led by Michael Bates with Rob Nicol out injured. The two new additons to the squad are bowlers Matt Quinn and Brett Randell. If Quinn returns to the playing XI it will be his first match for the Mondiale Aces since the Georgie Pie Super Smash. If Randell is selected it will be his first match in any format for the Mondiale Aces.
Mondiale Aces coach Mark O'Donnell says his side are excited to meet the Central Stags for the first time in the longer format this season.
“The Central Stags are a competitive side no matter what format you come up against them in. We know they have a strong batting line up and we will have to bowl well to try and take them out of the game. We certainly won't be letting their position on the table fool us into thinking they will be a soft touch."
"We have had a break between matches but were able to get out on Eden Park Outer Oval last week and simulate some match conditions and give players time in the middle."
A team for tomorrow's game will be named from the following 12 players:
