Mondiale Auckland Aces make several changes to squad

Media Release
10 December 2015

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have made several changes to their squad to take on the Otago Volts in the Georgie Pie Super Smash Qualifying Final.

Following a disappointing end to the regular season the Mondiale Auckland Aces are completely focused on their match against the Otago Volts on Friday. Injuries to several players mean a slightly different but still experienced Auckland side travel to New Plymouth.

The Rob Nicol led side could feature one new player in Hong Kong international Mark Chapman. The 21-year-old is an experienced Auckland A cricketer and has played around the world for Hong Kong including recently making his first international hundred.

The loser of the Monidale Aces v Otago Volts will get another life in the finals against the Canterbury Kings but Mondiale Aces Coach Mark O’Donnell says his side are only concentrating on Friday night.

“We have players who are experienced in finals cricket and they know we can't get too far ahead of ourselves. We are really reinforcing this week the importance of just focusing on the Otago Volts game.”

“We are obviously playing at a neutral venue so there's no home advantage to be had and I don't think the ground favours a particular side. We have had one experience at Yarrow Stadium and we have been able to use that in our plans for this match."

An XI will be selected from the following 13 players (shirt number in brackets)-
