Martin Guptill returns to the
Mondiale Aces squad
The Mondiale Aces will have the services BLACKCAP Martin Guptill when they take on the Northern Knights in Hamilton tomorrow.
Following a washed out contest in Dunedin the Mondiale Aces will come into the game fresh as they seek to cement a spot in finals position for the Georgie Pie Super Smash. Tomorrow's game will be the first Georgie Pie Super Smash match between the sides this season after the first encounter was rained out in Hamilton.
The match is an important one for both sides as they look to secure a birth in the final stage of the competition. The two points gained by the Mondiale Aces from the Dunedin wash out have them just ahead of the Knights on the points table.
Mondiale Aces Coach Mark O’Donnell is excited to take on the Northern Knights.
“The guys are feeling fresh and are eager to play Northern, we had a very competitive game against them in the Plunket Shield and we know they have some very dangerous players.I think the match will be a great contest.”
“We executed our plans really well against Wellington and we will need to do so again to beat the Knights at Seddon. They have players who can take a game away from you and we need to counteract that."
"It is exciting to have Martin back in the group. He always adds a lot and he loves playing for Auckland so it is good to have that attitude in the team."
An XI will be selected from the following 13 players (shirt number in brackets)-
