PlayShop DEAD :Fast and spooky theatre from nothing!
PlayShop is pleased to announce a Halloween Special, PlayShop DEAD, a twist on its flagship show, LIVE. PlayShop LIVE is late-night improvised comedy without limits, fast, physical, and unpredictable, and it's performed every Friday night! On the 30th October a team of skilled actors and a musician create spontaneous theatre with nothing but each other, the audience, and their spooky imaginations.
PlayShop DEAD will be lead by PlayShop's Artistic Director, Lori Leigh, and will be completely unique. So come along to join the party of ghouls, pumpkins and monsters for a wonderful Halloween night.
PlayShop is Wellington’s freshest improv group on the scene, reinvigorating the form with various shows such as Riddiford Street, Game of Things, and This Fair Verona. Recently PlayShop's production of 10 Things I Hate About Us won 'Best Improv' at the New Zealand Fringe Festival Awards. Theatreview has called PlayShop's shows "side-splittingly funny" and “... an absolutely heartening and enjoyably energetic 60 minutes.” The Wireless has called PlayShop “Hip, Young, Exciting . . . an improv company that insists on wildness and liveliness.” As our weekly show PlayShop LIVE embodies the spirit of the company, every performance feels like a party with the quickest, loveliest, naughtiest actors you’ll meet.
PlayShop DEAD will be performe on Friday 30th October at BATS Theatre, which has flown home to 1 Kent Terrace. The show will begin at 9.00pm, and will last approximately 50 minutes.
Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased by emailing book@bats.co.nz, or calling 04 802 4175.
