Courtney Barnett in three New Zealand dates

Courtney Barnett in three New Zealand dates

THURSDAY 23 JULY, 2015 – It’s just ten months since Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett played her first New Zealand show at a sold-out Kings Arms. She returned in January to play St Jerome’s Laneway Festival and will bring her band to New Zealand this November for three shows.

Since last on New Zealand shores, Barnett has released her critically acclaimed studio album debut Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit, which hit #4 on the Australian charts and reached the top 20 in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the US.

Barnett has been touring ever since the release at venues of increasing size. Between now and her New Zealand dates, Barnett will play festivals across the US and Europe, as well as an opening slot for Blur at the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden in late October.

Just weeks ago, Rolling Stone put her single Pedestrian at Best at the top of their 25 Best Songs of 2015 So Far list. To quote writer Rob Sheffield, “Courtney Barnett makes it sound so insultingly easy — why aren't there three or four rock & roll singer-songwriter records this loose and frisky and funny and stout-hearted every year? Maybe it's not that easy.”

Let Courtney Barnett add you to her growing legion of fans with her often-hilarious observational songwriting and the live show that has seen her go from one to watch to “Australia's most sought-after indie export” (Village Voice).
