Go on holiday to find a prince
Don’t wait for Prince Harry to find you in Australia – jump on a plane and go find your own right royal romance with a little help (and a small price) from Cheapflights.com.au.
Ever since Princess Mary, the former real estate agent from Tasmania, met Prince Frederick at a Sydney pub during the Sydney Olympics, young Australian women have held out hope that, like a good Disney movie, one day their prince may come.
But with Prince Harry’s only scheduled public appearance, at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra flying by earlier this week without a whisper of romance, (unless you count his polite chastising of a teenage girl trying to take a selfie) Australian royalty wannabes might need to look further afield.
The travel experts at flight comparison website Cheapflights.com.au have scoured the globe for five of the world’s most eligible royals – and found the cheapest airfares for Aussie women to go find their prince.
Cheapflights.com.au spokesman, Ben Rosier said: “These days you don’t have to be a crowned prince (or princess) to travel the globe – and in the light of Harry’s visit to Oz, we thought it might be fun to look at eligible royal bachelors who are worth crossing continents for.
“With Cheapflights you can be sure that you won’t have to stump up a king’s ransom for your flights – and if you don’t find your Prince Charming, you’ll at least have fun exploring other cultures and maybe be able to save enough to stump up for some seven-star luxury while you’re away.”
Denmark - Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark
Prince Philippos is the youngest son of King Constantine of Greece and Queen Anne-Marie of Denmark and comes with a double-whammy title, despite Greece being declared a republic in 1973. You are likely to bump into the media-shy Prince on Wall Street in New York where he has carved out a successful career in finance and works as an analyst for a hedge fund.
Cheapflights.com.au has return flights between New York and Sydney (including all fees and taxes) from less than $1,200 – while return flights to Copenhagen start from around $1,500.
Liechtenstein – Prince Wenzeslaus
Nestled between the mountain ranges of Switzerland and Austria is the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein and Europe’s only absolute monarchy. The forty-one-year-old Prince Wenzeslaus, prefers to be called Vincent and is nicknamed ‘Vince the Prince’. His family is considered the richest monarchy in Europe and the never-married royal playboy dated Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adrian Lima, but is presently back on the singles market. So get shopping girls.
Liechtenstein doesn’t have an airport, so you’ll have to fly into Zurich and catch the train or bus for the 115km trip. Cheapflights.com.au sourced return flights from Australia to Switzerland for less than $1,500.
Dubai - Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum
Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Princes of Dubai is a poet, accomplished equestrian rider and amateur skydiver. The 33-year old is a graduate of Sandhurst military college and the London School of Economics. His poetry is published under the pen-name of Fazza and mainly focuses on romantic, patriotic and family themes.
Tall, dark, handsome, sporty and sensitive – you can find return flights, including all fees and charges to Dubai with Cheapflights.com.au from less than $1,200.
Luxembourg - Prince Sebastien Henri Marie Guillaume
Prince Sebastien of Luxembourg, Prince of Nassau is the sporty type. As fifth in line to throne, he is the youngest son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria. The 23 year-old loves to travel and is a keen sportsman; into climbing, skiing, swimming and rugby union.
Flights to Luxembourg are available on www.cheapflights.com.au from less than $1,400.
Brunei - Prince Azim
With an international reputation as the party prince, known for throwing lavish celebrity-studded soirees, 33-year old Prince Azim is third in line to the throne of Brunei. Although he is still a favourite with UK paparazzi, he has mellowed in recent years to focus on his philanthropic work with charities benefitting women and children.
You’ll wing your way to Brunei for less than $900 when you search for airfares from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne with Cheapflights.
