Randell joins Mondiale Aces for Stags game

The Mondiale Auckland Aces have called in paceman Brett Randell for their ninth round clash with the Central Stags starting in Napier tomorrrow.

Randell comes in for Dean Bartlett in an otherwise unchanged 12 man squad. Rob Nicol is still unavailable due to the ongoing effects of a head knock and Colin de Grandhomme also remains on the injured list.

The Mondiale Aces loss in the last round to the Wellington Firebirds was a blow to their title aspirations with a 27 point gap opening up between them in third and first placed Canterbury.

Whilst their hopes of winning the competition might have faded Coach Matt Horne still sees plenty to play for in the remaining games.

“We’ve got two games left and I think in both those games we’ve got a lot left to achieve. We want to put together consistent performances that stack up across the whole four days. If we do that then you put yourself in line to get the points and we’ll see where that gets us.”

A team for the game that starts at 10.30am tomorrow, 24 March, at Nelson Park, Napier will be named from the following 12 players:

Michael Bates (Captain)
Brad Cachopa
Carl Cachopa
Lockie Ferguson
Donovan Grobbelaar
Anaru Kitchen
Colin Munro
Tarun Nethula
Robert O’Donnell
Matt Quinn
Brett Randell
Jeet Raval
