International Acts Top Auckland Circus Convention Friday 17 - Sunday 19 October, 2014.
Two award winning circus companies, Circability and The Blingling Bros are partnering up with top international acts to bring Auckland their 3rd Circus Convention. This year’s offering looks set to be a stunner with an action packed weekend of workshops, competitions, forums and shows at Victoria Park and the Victory Convention Centre in Auckland Central. The Convention culminates in an incredible Circus Spectacular Gala show not to be missed. The Gala Show, hosted by The Blingling Bros (NZ Circus Award Winners 2013) will feature special performances by national and international circus stars, such as award winning Chris Carlos, internationally acclaimed Mason West and the amazing Alez Mizzen. Alex is a trained gymnast and graduate from the National Theatre Ballet. Performing across many different countries the delight she now finds is in the collaboration of these two art forms & witnessing the magic that unfolds when they do. Her powerful, yet subtle hand-balance and aerial silks/ rope acts are driven by truthfulness on stage whose style is enriched with unquestionable dance prowess, acrobatic skill and divine aerial abilities.
From the US, juggler Thom Wall comes to us fresh from the tour with Cirque du Soleil's big-top show "TOTEM”.
