Kidicorp Joins Variety Trillian Bash to help Kiwi Kids
Kidicorp joins hands with Tauranga team’s fire appliance
When the Variety Trillian Bash’s convoy of classic cars next takes to the road to raise funds for New Zealand kids in
need of a hand-up, it will be joined by a 1981 International fire truck decked out in the bright-blue Kidicorp livery.
The child-focused organisation has climbed on board with a group of young Tauranga friends who want to make a
difference, and who’ve raised funds for Variety – The Childrens Charity for two years under the now retired ‘8th Tribe’
tag.
Engine owner Morris Danks says the tribal name acknowledges that people like to get together in like-minded groups, this
one as a team dedicated to making life better for Kiwi kids in need of a hand-up.
And that focus means it makes sense to shake hands with Kidicorp, he says.
“Kidicorp’s vision is to work in partnership with teachers and parents to enable children to achieve their learning
potential. That is how Kidicorp makes a positive difference in the lives of New Zealand’s children. It aims to provide
each child with a positive, supportive and emotionally safe environment.”
“That makes the Bash a perfect fit,” Danks says, “as both organisations are committed to building brighter futures for
Kiwi kids.”
Kidicorp owner Wayne Wright agrees, and can’t wait to see the Kidicorp truck out on the road. "We deeply admire the work
of the Variety Trillian Bash. Its crazy collection of vehicles calls on communities all around New Zealand, raising
funds and giving out much needed resources,” he says.
“There's so much colour and fun, but underpinning that is total commitment from its team members to raise funds for
children.”
