Courtney Barnett Heads to New Zealand This September
Whitepaper are delighted to announce rising star Courtney Barnett is heading to Auckland for her first ever New Zealand show. The announcement comes on the back of a string of sold out shows and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and USA.
It's been an incredible four months for Melbourne-based Courtney Barnett, touring the UK and USA and playing shows with Benjamin Booker, Your Friend, Kurt Vile, Phosphorescent and Sharon Van Etten. As well as a US TV debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and a string of major festival appearances including Coachella, The Great Escape, Primavera in Spain and Portugal, Sasquatch, Field Day and Glastonbury (three shows).
Courtney Barnett received international acclaim last year for her remarkable ability to transform the most mundane events of everyday life into spellbinding, thoughtful lyrics. Barnett's talent for crafting catchy songs was displayed with the release of The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas. The debut caught the attention of music lovers and critics, with Rolling Stone comparing the emerging songwriter to "early Bob Dylan," while NPR described Barnett as "laconic, funny and charming."
Following Splendour In The Grass, Courtney returns to the USA to play another run of festival appearances including Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Pickathon, followed by a North American co-headline tour in October with San Fermin, supported by Mikhael Paskalev.
Lock it in; Courtney Barnett will be one to watch.
