New Venue and Date for the Tangi Reka Music Awards
Due to the overwhelming response from the public, the Tangi Reka Music Awards will now be held on Saturday 1st November at the ASB Showgrounds.
The Tangi Reka Arts & Cultural Trust Board have announced that the change has been made so that the inaugural event could accommodate more people, at a lower cost.
Noo Pare, spokesperson for the Trust says “Holding the event at the previous location means that so many people would miss out on attending. This way, Award recipients and their family can be there.”
The inaugural Tangi Reka Music Awards honours and celebrates those behind the journey of Cook Islands Music these last 50+ years and is hosted by the Tangi Reka Arts & Cultural Trust.
Nominations for the awards close earlier this month and the independent Selection Committee met shortly thereafter to deliberate and make their decisions.
Noo Pare, also says the change in location means that the Trust can now hold a special Concert showcasing the nominees. This is planned for Friday 31st of October.
The Tangi Reka Arts and Cultural Trust will announce ticket sales soon.
