NZL Laser sailors countdown to 2014 European Championships in Croatia
Next week New Zealand’s best Olympic single-handed sailors will line up to contest the 2014 European Laser Standard and
Laser Radial Championships.
The regatta, being held in Split, Croatia, is expected to attract large fleets including a full complement of the
world’s best in the Olympic single-handed dinghy disciplines for both men and women.
Racing starts in Split on Monday and runs over six days with the titles set to be decided and medals presented on
Saturday 14th June.
Preliminary entries two weeks in advance of competition indicate that organisers are expecting close to 300 sailors from
45 countries competing in Split, Croatia next week.

12 June: 2 races back to back (Qualifying Series/Final Series if 4 races have been sailed)
13 June: 2 races back to back (Qualifying Series/Final Series)
14 June: 2 races back to back (Qualifying Series/Final Series), Prize-giving

The NZL Sailing Team includes New Zealand’s top Olympic campaigners who have made the top 20% in their most recent
(respective) class World Championships or pinnacle event and have shown consistency of performance over the year
including other significant Championships.
