All Whites winners from Football World Cup
New Zealand Football will still get a financial boost from the 2014 Football World Cup.
Every bet New Zealanders place with the TAB during the tournament will help New Zealand Football prepare the All Whites
for their journey to Russia in 2018.
Last Football World Cup the TAB gave more than $500,000 to New Zealand Football, its cut of money spent by punters on
the tournament.
New Zealand Football CEO Andy Martin said it was great that New Zealand Football can acknowledge the contribution made
by the TAB to the development of football in our country.
‘The contribution of the TAB makes a major difference to the development of our game at grassroots level starting with
our future All Whites and prospective Football Ferns. It's commitment to football helps us to compete on the world
stage’ said Martin.
Kiwis bet more than $26million on the Football World Cup in 2010, making it the TAB’s highest earning international
tournament for betting turnover.
Yesterday the TAB launched its Football World Cup Campaign, with a free competition offering $5 million to anyone who
can name all 64 winners of the tournament.
In the past 24 hours, more than three and a half thousand Kiwis have signed up for their ‘One Shot at $5Million.’
“We want to see the All Whites wowing the world stage again in 2018, so we’re pulling out all the stops to make this our
most successful sports betting campaign ever’ said NZ Racing Board CEO Chris Bayliss.
Meanwhile the All Whites are underdogs for Friday night’s friendly against South Africa.
The TAB has the All Whites at $3.75 for the win, with South Africa at $1.85 and the draw $3.40.
