Chelsea Winter Hosts a Special Dinner with Kiwi Mums
Thirty guests were treated to an exclusive Mother’s Day cooking demonstration last night by celebrity foodie, Chelsea Winter.
The fortunate few to attend the event, held in Ponsonby Central, were winners of a competition via the Beef + Lamb New Zealand Facebook page.
The menu boasted a range of tasty canapés and tempting desserts but the hero of the night was by far, the main course, lamb wellingtons.
The winners each invited a guest along to relish in the tips and tastings of Chelsea’s recipes which are published in mEAT Magazine – a free recipe and meat guide provided by Beef + Lamb New Zealand.
A butchery demonstration was also included in the evening with Zak Grammer from Neat Meat in Ponsonby showing guests how to break down a whole lamb.
Chelsea gave the crowd plenty of helpful pointers on beef and lamb preparation and cookery including how to cook the perfect steak.
“I love educating kiwis about food - whether it's showing people how to perfect simple cooking techniques, or giving them the confidence to create a truly special meal that surprises them and their diners,” says Winter.
Chelsea invited her own mother-in-law to join the novel occasion.
“I know there are Mums everywhere working hard to create meals for their family while juggling busy lives. It's my job to inspire them with simple recipes that deliver on all counts - delicious, nutritious and simple to master. Even fussy eaters go in for seconds,” says Winter.
Chelsea is now working on developing recipes for the next issue of mEAT Magazine due in store June 30.
The event was sponsored by Campbell’s Real Stock, Dish Magazine, Kenwood, Kim Crawford, Neat Meat and Whittaker’s.
