You Have More Brains Than You Think
Ever acted on a “gut feeling” or felt that you’ve “lost heart?”
These aren’t just sayings. They’re insights into a deeper, more intuitive way of thinking, which until recently has been little understood.
Now, new neuroscience research has provided the answers, showing us that not only do we possess neural networks – aka a brain – in our head; we also have brains in our heart and gut.
Multiple Brain Integration Technique (mBIT) trainer, Stephanie Philp, says all three of our brains impact upon our lives.
“Your heart brain is responsible for how you relate to others, as well as your passions, purpose, dreams and goals,” she says. “Your gut brain’s prime functions are self preservation, your sense of identity, courage and action (or non action), while your head brain is logical, analytical and creative.”
Because most of us aren’t fully aware of our gut and heart brains, we go through life relying only on our head brain. And this, Stephanie says, can hold us back from realising our full potential.
“Each of our brains is responsible for a different aspect of the decision making process, so it makes sense that using all three brains is going to lead to more aligned decisions, better leadership (of our own life or leadership of others) and less stress.”
“By learning how to use all three of your wonderful brains, you will not only make the best decisions for you, but also begin bringing more compassion, creativity and courage to the world, and living at your highest expression.”
