Diverse Bananas Global Dragons Conference 30 May -1 June 2014
NZ Chinese Association Auckland Branch are hosting the 2014 Diverse Bananas Global Dragons conference - on 30 May -1
June 2014 at the University of Auckland Business School. There are again high calibre speakers and sessions across
varied disciplines of business, youth, art and culture. We are fortunate to have Anthony Hoy Fong - talented young
restaurateur based in New York coming back to recount his personal story of learning to be a top class chef and pushing
boundaries in a competitive profession. We also have Mai Chen - renowned constitutional law specialist providing the
opening key note address and giving her views on the vital links back to China and the future vision. Young entrepreneur
Deanna Young recounts her story of opening Moustache - a trendy milk and cookie bar in Wellesley Street - going against
her parents wishes to follow a 'safe' profession.
There are so many stories and experiences to be shared -some controversial and some audacious (visit the website http://www.goingbananas.org.nz/) -but they all revolve around the principles of being Chinese and the pride in being a successful Chinese New Zealander
here or abroad. Registrations can be directed to kailuey@xtra.co.nz (mob 021333125) or david_d_wong@bnz.co.nz (mob
