A modern twist on the Anzac biscuit raises funds for the RSA
The Breeze in Wellington has launched a modern twist on the classic Anzac biscuit to raise money for the Wellington RSA this ANZAC Day.
Steve Joll from The Breeze Wellington Breakfast Show came up with the twist on the traditional Anzac biscuit after he had an abundance of cranberries.
“This is pretty exciting for me. The recipe is sorted, the packaging perfect, stickers designed and printed and so I give you … Cranzacs,” says Joll.
“The Cranzac has the traditional Anzac biscuit flavour however is speckled with delicious cranberries.”
New World Thorndon has come on board to bake, package and sell Steve’s Cranzacs. A packet of five biscuits is just $5 with all proceeds from the sale (after expenses) going to assist the families of the returned service men and women.
1,500 packets have been sold already and Steve Joll and Kath Bier of The Breeze Wellington Breakfast (6am–10am weekdays) will broadcast live from New World on Thursday to drive last minute sales.
