Creative Communities Funding Scheme is closing in two weeks
Upper Hutt, 17 April 2014 - The Creative Communities grants are funds that are administered through the Upper Hutt City
Council on behalf of Creative NZ. The fund aims to inspire communities to create great arts projects of all
descriptions. It is available for any project that provides opportunities for local communities to engage with and
participate in arts activities. Other potential projects could include supporting the diverse arts and cultural
traditions of local communities, enriching and promoting their uniqueness and cultural diversity or enabling and
encouraging young people to engage with and actively participate in the arts.
The type of projects that have been accepted for funding previously include activities like sculpture, dance
performances, music sessions, art therapy, and cultural festivals. The allocation committee is primarily made up of
members of the local community and they are looking to fund a wide array of projects, so put forward any arts or culture
based ideas that you have to improve the Upper Hutt arts scene.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 30 April 2014 at 4.00 pm, so now is the time to apply. If you would like
