Auckland’s Biggest Weekend of Family Entertainment Opens This Morning
It may be a wet and windy start to the long Easter weekend, but it’s all systems go for the 2014 Coca-Cola Easter Show,
open from 10am today for five huge days of family entertainment!
With FREE entry into the event 10am to 10pm daily from Thursday April 17th to Monday April 21st, the ASB Showgrounds
will be fun-filled regardless of the weather, with all the sights and sounds of Auckland’s most iconic family event.
With loads of activities taking place under cover and out of the rain, CEO of ASB Showgrounds Mark Frankham believes
families will still be hard pressed to see everything in just one day.
“It’s still without a doubt Auckland’s best family value entertainment weekend,” says Frankham.
“Our rides and live shows are on hold this morning due to weather, but we still have our very popular FarmWorld
andArtWorld experiences as well as Zirka Circus all taking place as planned” he says.
Once the weather clears, show-goers are in for a real treat this weekend with the return of BIG rides from
MahonsAmusements featuring some the biggest thrill rides in the country; from the Turbo Boost, to the Hurricane, from
theScream Machine through to the Gravitron, you’re guaranteed that your pulse will be racing and lungs screaming!
Another new attraction to the show in 2014 is the hugely impressive SuperFly Waterslide. Standing over 11 meters tall
and sprawling 55 meters long, it is the world’s largest inflatable waterslide that must be seen to be believed. Bring
your togs and have a go!
And in celebration of the LEGO® MOVIE coming to cinemas April 17, Warner Bros. Pictures are giving people the chance to
meet the star of the LEGO® movie, Emmet at the show between 12.30pm – 2.30pm daily.
And don’t forget, the Strong Man competition takes place on Friday and Saturday and is always a crowd eye-opener, with
the strongest arms and legs in the country showing their incredible feats of strength and endurance.
