NZSOMO 2014 promises to be biggest of its kind in New Zealand
The itinerary for the 2014 Social Media forum #NZSOMO has been announced. The big four are all represented with talks
from Facebook, Twitter, Google and LinkedIn. The event will be held at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland on 30th
June 2014 - 1st July 2014. Jon Randles, Head of Business Development at MOSH, New Zealand's top Social Media Agency is
chairing the event as well as heading up a workshop on proving ROI and analytics for social campaigns. New Zealand's use
of social media for business is increasing rapidly to bring the country in line with the global pattern. This is
evidenced by the presence of some experienced digital and community managers from large corporations such as New Zealand
Red Cross and The Human Rights Commission.
For some years businesses have operated a strategy of dipping a toe in the social media waters and seeing how it goes
but #SOMO chair Jon Randles believes these days are over. 'At MOSH we emphasise the importance of careful planning
followed by monitoring and measuring the success of social media campaigns. I am excited about hearing some of the
experienced speakers at #SOMO this year, particularly the case studies around what happens when things go wrong and you
end up fire fighting. Enterprises such as Vodafone, Hamilton City Council and GeoNet have enormous experience and are
willing to share with delegates which is what social media is all about. Having worked closely with a number of large
companies with MOSH, it will be interesting to hear how they have learned from their experiences and what has worked
well for them.'
#NZSOMO offers the opportunity for break out discussions to further widen the sharing of information and contacts. Early
bird prices end on 28th April 2014. Contact register@conferenz.co.nz or on 09 912 3616 for further information.
