Gala Day
TVNZ celebrity chef Michael Van de Elzen Goes Back to School
25th February 2014
Henderson Valley School is a semi-rural school nestled between farmland and bush at the foot of the Waitakere Ranges. The school is holding their bi-annual Gala on Saturday 5th April from 10am until 2pm.
Sponsorship is underway providing some amazing prizes to raffle and auction including a helicopter ride for 6 from Skywork Helicopters Ltd, passes to many of Auckland’s tourist attractions, a term of free lessons from Waitakere City School of Dance, the latest Crusaders jersey, scarf and beanie and a hair-cut and colour package from Sudan, amongst many other high quality items.
Skywork Helicopter Ltd will also be providing flights over Waitakere on the day (bookings will need to be made prior to the gala via the school office).
There will also be a huge white elephant stall, a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and local professional face painters from Face NZ and Folky Faces will be showing off their stunning designs. Also, there will be some excellent activities with a bouncy castle and the marvellous dunk tank for your favourite teachers, including our Principal!
A huge number of food stalls will be there to tempt your taste buds, including spit roast lamb rolls, cakes, ice cream, hot dogs and the well-known and loved TVNZ celebrity chef Michael Van de Elzen, an old boy of Henderson Valley Primary School, will be attending from 11am and will be helping on our good old sausage sizzle. He is happy to sign autographs and have his photo taken with the public.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back to my old primary school. I loved school, although I’m not sure how much my teachers loved me, well apart from my home-economics teacher of course.”
Come and join in the fun and help us raise valuable funds for our library and music room re-build.
We look forward to seeing you there.
