New Zealand honoured in Sydney Royal Parade
Adam Lowe from Hokitika will be recognised at the prestigious Parade of Champions at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter
Show (the Show).
The Parade of Champions has been a showstopper with the crowds and is in its third year. It takes place on Excellence in
Agriculture Day, and celebrates members of the Show family for their outstanding contributions to the Show over the
years.
Since 2008, Adam has made wood chips fly at the Sydney Royal Woodchopping and Sawing Competition impressing the crowds
and the judges with his flair and skill.
Six years ago when an injury forced Adam to hang up his rugby boots, he decided to give woodchopping a crack. Since then
he has won a string of prizes in the 600mm World Championship Double Handed Sawing Contest and the 375mm World Champion
Standing Block. He says his greatest Show achievement was winning the Champion of Champions title in 2013.
President of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), Glenn Dudley, said the champions are the heart and soul of the
Show.
“Each year, our exhibitors, committee members and volunteers travel hundreds of kilometres and dedicate countless hours,
helping to shape what has become an iconic, Australian event,” he said.
