Experis partners with Dress for Success Charity Auction to help women become work-ready
NEW ZEALAND (March 2014): Experis, a ManpowerGroup company, is proud to announce that it has partnered with Dress for Success to
hold a charity auction in Wellington on the 18th March.
The auction will be hosted at the Te Papa Museum, to raise funds for the charity’s 7 branches around New Zealand.
Neil Munro, General Manager of Experis New Zealand, said the event was a great opportunity to raise funds and awareness
to support women in finding employment and enabling financial independence.
“With the New Zealand economy looking strong for the coming year and the job market continuing to pick up in most areas,
it’s vital that we get New Zealanders work-ready, and geared up to take advantage of the opportunities available,” Mr
Munro said.
“Dress for Success provides a range of services, such as a Career Centre and the employment retention program, that
align closely with Experis’ own professional recruitment and training services, as well as, ManpowerGroup’s wider focus
on equal work opportunities for all".
Sue Lewis-O’Halloran, Regional Australasian Director, Dress for Success, said events like the charity auction not only
raised vital funds but also helped to raise awareness of the issue.
“New Zealand’s unemployment rate of 6.0 per cent is felt most acutely by marginalised groups in the community and women
often fall into this category. Dress for Success Wellington assists women living throughout the lower North Island from
Feilding to Wairarapa.
“50% of our clients are 24 years of age and younger and 44% are of Maori or Pacific Island descent,” she said.
In New Zealand and Australia, nearly 30,000 women have accessed Dress for Success’ services - over 2,500 in the
Wellington branch alone.
Dress for Success has over 750,000 of women get ready for work by providing free clothes for job interviews and
employment, along with CV and interview help, plus a job retention and leadership programme.
