Celebrating 75 Years of the Olympic Pool
Free Action Packed Open Day This Sunday March 16
The Olympic Pool in Newmarket is celebrating its 75th year with a fantastic FREE OPEN DAY this Sunday from 11am to 3pm. If the cyclone kicks in it will be a great place to be as it is covered.
Many Aucklanders know someone who learnt to swim at The Olympic.
It is now celebrating 75 years as an integral part of the community and everyone is welcome to come by on Sunday whether bringing back memories or just having some fun visiting the pool and gym and
Open day 11am to 3pm

A Free Open Day with activities led by Captain Jack Pukeko.
The Muriwai Surf Club is popping their boat into the pool for a bit of fun.

Fun Swim Race between the politicians, athletes and a celebrity or two 12.30
Some water ballet and glamorous fun from the Wet Hot Beauties 1pm onwards
Fantastic Zorb Like Water Walkers a treat for everyone 11am to 3pm
Come along for a great day out.
As a 75th Jubilee gift the pool will be offering 20% for everyone off all pool and gym memberships over the weekend of Saturday 15 and Sunday 16
The Olympic is the only covered Olympic size pool in Central Auckland originally commissioned in anticipation of the 1950 Empire Games. The Newmarket Olympic Pool is an excellent example of a private public partnership, owned by the Auckland City Council but run by The Olympic Pool and Fitness Centre Ltd with all the investment in the development and upkeep of the complex at no cost to ratepayers.
