Suren Unka to Release Debut Album in April
Electronic house producer Suren Unka is set to release his debut album El Chupacabra this April.
El Chupacabra features ten tracks in total – with eight brand new songs alongside previously released singles Early
(2011) and Alice (2013).
Suren Unka expresses himself most articulately via his music. The two year journey to the release of El Chupacabra has
been about perfecting his sound and expanding the range of synthesizers to take his production to new levels.
Unka has found a way to adhere to house music’s conventions while still applying his sun-dappled emotive aesthetic,
stretching his intimate melodies over thin layers and anthemic rhythms. El Chupacabra echoes the ephemeral aspects of
garage music, with a clean sweetness drawing through from soft synth sounds. His live set is upbeat and energetic,
disregarding classic structures and instead work instinctively on what is fun and danceable.
Bonobo, Fourtet, Gold Panda and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs shaped so much of his musical taste and continue to
push further with their own work in both a natural and unexpected fashion.
A single from El Chupacabra will be released before April. The album is being mastered by Stuart Hawkes, having
previously worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Rudimental, Disclosure, Chase and Status and Totally Enormous Extinct
Dinosaurs.
El Chupacabra will be released on April 21.
