Aces make four changes for round three

Aces make four changes for round three

Saturday, 8 March 2014

The Auckland Aces have made four changes to their squad for their thrird round match with the Northern Knights in Hamilton tomorrow.

Gareth Hopkins returns after missing the last game due to family commitments and Tipene Friday, Matt Quinn and Jono Sole come in to replace the departing Blackcaps contingent.

The Aces have got their Ford Trophy campaign off to the perfect start with two bonus point wins but coach Matt Horne says that this game presents another challenge for his side.

"Anytime you have a number of new players coming in to the team it has to be managed carefully and especially when you're winning because you want to maintain that momentum. It's something that we knew about well in advance though so we've planned for it and the guys coming in are really keen to make a big contribution."

A team will be named from the following twelve players:

Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Tipene Friday (Parnell)
Donovan Grobbelaar (Howick Pakuranga)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Robbie O'Donnell (Takapuna)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
Jono Sole (Takapuna)
