Artists In Action--- A New Arts Trail For Miramar Peninsula, Wellington

The Miramar Peninsula, minutes from central Wellington, is home to the most productive, prolific and exciting creative community in New Zealand.
Already known for the International film industry created by Weta and Peter Jackson, there is also a large concentration of excellent artists living and working in the area. The newly formed Miramar Peninsula Art Trail will present an Artists in Action weekend March 8th and 9th, 2014 when you can follow a specially produced art trail map and meet over 20 artists in their studios. This is an opportunity to see artists in their own environments, painting, sculpting, potting, print-making and crafting unique and beautiful work.. You can discuss technique, ask questions and purchase or commission quality art from the artists, knowing its story from the artists themselves.
Surrounded by scalloped bays and sparkling seas the Miramar Peninsula The area is known for its great beauty and fine dining from charming cafes to sophisticated restaurants, many of whom have helped to sponsor this special event. A great day out for locals and visitors and a treasure hunt!
The $10 ticket to the event provides entry into a painting draw if 10 or more studios are visited. Tickets can be purchased online at www.mpat.co.nz or direct from the Clay Penguin, 13 Hector st, Seatoun.

ARTISTS IN ACTION
On the Miramar Peninsula, minutes from Wellington, an unusual concentration of artists working help form the most productive, prolific and exciting creative community in New Zealand. On Saturday and Sunday, March 8th and 9th, 2014 from 10AM to 4PM all the artists on the Peninsula will be in their studios at work with their paintings, sculptures, prints and pottery available for sale and the methods and stories behind their work revealed. Your $10 ticket fee enters you into a draw for a painting by one of 20 participating artists if you visit 10 studios.
